Apprentice Advance+ Programme with Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ)
Are you looking to learn new and important skills that will help you to further your career in construction? Construction Skills Queensland’s (CSQ) Apprentice Advance+ Programme 2019-20, with its focus on safety and licencing training, could be for you.
The Apprentice Advance+ program provides funding to assist with upskilling and cross skilling existing workers in the building and construction industry. The training focuses on the safety, regulatory and licensing requirements of the industry and can provide you with a range of competencies that employers need. The Apprentice Advance+ program offers various short courses, designed to get you up-skilled fast.
For the 2019-20 programme, which runs from 1st Oct 2019 to 30th Sep 2020, each eligible participant is able to access several CSQ funded General Construction short courses, and CSQ funded Civil Construction short courses.
For the purposes of eligibility, participants under this agreement must meet the following criteria:
1. They must be an active eligible Apprentice or Trainee in the building and construction industry OR an Apprentice or Trainee who has completed in the last one (1) year who are either currently employed or unemployed OR a cancelled participant who are accessing State Government funding to complete their Apprenticeship or Traineeship.
Evidence requirements – As evidence for an active Apprentice or Trainee, we require a Commencement letter from the Department of Education and Training.
As evidence for a completed Apprentice or Trainee within the last one (1) year, we require a Completion Certificate or Letter followed with either (a) Letter of reference from employer (b) Payslips (c) if self-employed, a copy of a tax invoice, OR if unemployed (d) Separation Certificate.
As evidence of a cancelled participant who are accessing State Government funding to complete their Apprenticeship or Traineeship, we require a Copy of Training Assistance Advice from the Department of Education and Training with either (a) The completed paper-base assessment items for each unit of competency (b) The assessor completed marking guide/observation checklist for each unit of competency.
2. Proof that they are either (a) Australian or New Zealand citizen; or (b) a permanent resident of Australia; or (c) a refugee and humanitarian visa holder. (please note this does not include 457 visa holders)
Evidence requirements – As evidence, we require one of the following: a) Full birth certificate or birth certificate extract b) Passport c) Medicare card (green only); or d) Visa
3. They must also (a) permanently reside in Queensland, or (b) be permanently employed in Queensland.
Evidence requirements – As evidence, we require one of the following: a) Queensland drivers licence b) telephone account c) bank statement d) statement from a real estate agent; or e) any other formal documentation stating the participants’ full name and current residential address and/or their employment status.
